A very cool venue. Your new hosts/owners, twin bros Mike and Mark (careful - you never know for sure which one you''re talking to!) will make your visit memorable. Great food, drink and a layed back relaxing atmosphere.

bad staff? great staff!
The staff that I’ve had at The Nelson has been great. I only know the two girls with long dark hair (they work together on weekends) but they’ve always treated us like gold! Me and my mates love to go there Friday after work and one of the reasons that is is because of the girls that work there. Highly recomended!
Good place, bad staff
The girl working there ruined our dinner by treating as with an attitude like she was doing us a favour. Never seen anybody that unfriendly before. We are not coming back until management changes.
Very unfriendly staff
The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The server made a mistake and overcharged my credit card. But instead of solving the problem and apologizing, she insulted me and refuesed to give my money back. Eventually I got the money back, but I was indulted and humiliating because, and it was all the server fault. I am not coming back until the staff changes.
Nelson Cafe
I am really not a pub girl but since the new owners Mike & Mark took over the Nelson Cafe, they have attracted a great, friendly crowd…like Vancouver used be…people will share a table, conversation and fun. Low key small place with no cover charge…why isn’t there more places like this? If it had a dance floor I would be in heaven but I guess you can have everything. Good burgers too!
Go to the Nelson. I recommend it if miss a “no attitude” type place.
